Wittle People Wednesday

I used to follow Ashley over at Ramblings and Photos back when I was actually on top of blogging. Since I'm working on getting back into it and focusing more on my photography I decided to catch back up. Looks like we have both introduced new little people into the world:) She has since started "Wittle People Wednesday" over on her blog. I figured since most of my pictures feature D it might be fun to participate. And yes, I know Wednesday has passed for this week but I figured why not get started. Better late than never, right?

This is my little man Davin:) We went flying with Dad on Monday. I snapped this cuteness right before takeoff.

Point and Shoot NO MORE

I'm not 100% new when it comes to my camera.  I know the most basics like where the shutter release button is and how to work the flash. When I first started to learn in highschool I used a completely manual camera.  Absolutely no point and shoot available; however, since then I have  fallen into the auto mode trap. Don't get me wrong I have taken some pretty great pictures using my trusty auto mode.

Heck, this one I took with my iPhone.

These photos are some of my favorites.  They hang on my wall in my living room, have graced pages in calendars for family christmas gifts, and won an award or two at the fair. I've even sold a few. I like to call myself an accidental photographer:) But, you can only fake it until you make it for so long.  I'm ready to take a steps forward into becoming a real photographer and getting out of auto mode.

Like I mentioned in my last post, I will be working my way through this course over at ItsOverflowing.com and posting about my adventure each Friday. Since I already have my camera and know it's basic functions I'll be starting with Week 2 - Aperture. So check back next Friday to see how it goes:)

I'm baaaccckkk!

Boy! it has been a long time since I've posted on here.  I have been busy, busy, busy. School, life, and a new bouncing baby boy have kept me on my toes. 2012 has been a full year. So needless to say I haven't had much time for crafting these days. To be honest I haven't really even had the urge to create anything.  I did recently make myself a "costume" for a halloween themed bunco. I made myself a Mrs Incredible Apron.  I figured I'd put a mom/wife/homemaker spin on the idea:) It was the first time I have ever used my sewing machine to applique. It wasn't perfect, but I was still pretty happy with the finished product, especially since it only took about 2 hours to make.

The only other thing I've made since D was born would be this:

I saw this while perusing the internet a while back and I had to have one. I just didn't want to pay the hefty $150 price tag that when with it.  So I put my Silhouette HD to work, found a frame at Joann's, and put this puppy together for a whopping $5:)

So that is the extent of the creativeness I have experienced over the last nine months. I'm hoping that my creative bug will come back, but in the mean time I do have some other projects going.  I have been getting better antiquated with my camera lately, having a baby will do that. I took photography in highschool and have since forgotten most of it. I figured since I have my camera out anyways it was high time that I re-learned it all. I found this photography overview over at ItsOverflowing.com and it seemed like a great place to start getting re-acquainted. I will try my best to post my progress on Friday's and hope to get back into the bloggy world bit by bit:)
