Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Ashley over at Ramblings and Photos hosts a photo scavenger hunt every Sunday.  I'm really trying to get a feel for my fancy camera and learn my photo editing software and I figured this would be an excellent way to do it. This week's categories are: Pink, Books, Fall Colors, Leaf, and Orange. Here is what I came up with....

3. Fall Colors - Since the call colors in AK are already gone and snow is on the ground I had to pull this one from my photo stash.  I took this one a while back when the leaves were still on the trees.

 

4. Leaf - This is a picture of one of the "leaves" on the family tree that I made.

Shutter Love - Pumpkins

This week's theme is Pumpkins.

We make due in Alaska when it come to halloween pumpkins.  No pumpkins patches up here:~( The grocery store tries and usually carries a good selection.  So photo gallery isn't exactly over flowing with pumpkin pictures, but I do have a few.  I did these pumpkins last year.  It was the first time I had ever found a white pumpkin.  I had fun with them.

Craft Blog Addict!

Hello! My name is Tara and I'm a Craft Blog addict!

At this point in time I have 30 blogs in my RSS reader and I'm constantly adding to that number.  The only reason there are so few is because I have actually been able to exercise some restraint, but I feel it slipping:~)  There are so many fabulously creative ladies out there with fantastic blogs I just can't help myself!!! And its not just craft blogs that I follow.  There are food blogs, photography blogs, decorating blogs, sewing blogs, chances are if it involves being creative I'm more than likely interested.  I have more little orange flags, marking projects and ideas and recipes, than I know what to do with.

These trees were victims of a forest fire.  I took this photo about 2 summers ago while 4-wheeling in White Mountain Recreation Park in Alaska.

Shutter Love Tuesday

Tuesday's are for Shutter Love over at Trendy Tree house.  Today's theme is sports. These days I don't really follow or play sports.  But there was a day way back when horses were my life and Yes, riding is a sport.  So I thought that today would be a good day to travel back through my pictures and see what I could dig up.  Here's what I found. The first few are of my sister and I.

I would love to pretend that these next one's are of me or my lovely sister, but they aren't.  I took these a few years back when my mother, sister, and I traveled to Kentucky for the Rolex. Many of these competitor's had participated in the Olympics.  One of them, David O'connor, won the first Equestrian Gold Medal for the US since 1984.  So it was a pretty exciting competition to watch.
